It's untethered, which means the cable isn't fixed to the unit. That's actually a feature, not a limitation. You choose the cable that suits your car and your setup, you can swap it out if you change vehicles, and the charger itself stays sleek and compact on the wall rather than having a cable permanently dangling from it. Charging cables are available separately in 5m, 7m and 10m options.

Control is handled through the SEVR app via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or 4G. Start and stop charging from the couch, set a schedule to charge during off-peak hours when power is cheaper, or monitor your sessions from anywhere. RFID access control means only authorised users can initiate a charge — handy if you're in a shared driveway or just want to keep things locked down.

If you've got solar, the X3 gets even smarter. Add the optional CT clamp kit and the charger will automatically prioritise energy from your panels before drawing from the grid. Charge your car on sunshine, reduce your bills, and stop sending excess solar back to the grid for a fraction of what it costs you to buy it back.

Built-in RCD protection is included as standard — one less thing to sort out during installation.
